Religious Bodies

Religious Bodies is a series of reports that the United States Bureau of the Census published early in the 20th century, with statistics on American religious bodies taken at ten-year intervals.

Publication History

The first Religious Bodies report was for 1906, and was published in two volumes in 1910. The last Religious Bodies report from the Census Bureau was for 1936, and was published in 1941. Various private organizations conducted later religious censuses after the Bureau of the Census ended its own religious surveys. Some organizations have also converted the statistics in the US Census Bureau reports to machine-processable datasets.
