Publication History

The Virginia Quarterly Review began in 1925. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is April 1929 (v. 5 no. 2), © March 12, 1929. The first actively copyright-renewed contribution is from January 1930. (More details) It is still published today.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1925-present: The VQR Issue Archive has most issues from 1925 onward. As of April 2019, according to the site every issue has at least some of its articles free to read (and some issues appear to offer free access to any article), but there is a metered limit on how many articles one can read per month before payment or subscription is required.
• 1925-1928: HathiTrust has volumes 1-4. Some later volumes may be searchable but not readable online here.
