The Washington Times was an American newspaper published in Washington, DC. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Washington Times began in 1894. By 1895, the Morning Times and Evening Times were published as separate editions under those titles. The morning edition went through a couple of other title changes, and then ended in 1902, with the remaining evening and Sunday editions continuing as The Washington Times. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from September 28, 1936. (More details) It was acquired by William Randolph Hearst in the 1920s, who also owned the Washington Herald. The two daily newspapers were merged in 1939 to form the Washington Times-Herald.
