Western Story Magazine began in 1919, succeeding New Buffalo Bill Weekly. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is January 12, 1929 (v. 83 no. 6), © January 4, 1929. It initially ceased publication in 1949, but was then revived in 1952, expiring again in 1954.
