The Wilmingtonian

The Wilmingtonian was the main title of a newspaper published in Wilmington, Delaware in the 1820s.

Publication History

The Wilmingtonian began in 1823. In 1824 it became The Wilmingtonian, and Delaware Register (though "The Wilmingtonian" was printed in larger type on the front page than "and Delaware Register"). In 1825 it became The Wilmingtonian, and Delaware Advertiser (again with "The Wilmingtonian" printed significantly larger than the rest of the title). The Wilmingtonian ran until 1827, when it was renamed Delaware Weekly Advertiser and Farmer's Journal. An unrelated 1880s Wilmington newspaper was also named The Wilmingtonian.
