Works Issued by the Hakluyt Society is a series of travel narratives published by the Hakluyt Society in London.

Publication History

The first of the Works Issued by the Hakluyt Society was published in 1847. The first 50 publications were initially issued without numbering, but were numbered retrospectively. The first series (100 volumes) was published from 1847 through 1899; the second series (190 volumes) was published from 1899 through 2000; the third series (29 volumes as of mid-2022) began in 1999; and an Extra series (47 volumes as of mid-2022) began in 1903. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) Publication continues today. The order in which volumes were numbered was not always the order in which they were initially published.
