Yale Historical Publications: Miscellany was a series of historical monographs published by Yale University Press.

Publication History

The first volume of the Miscellany series was published in 1914. The Miscellany series ran for at least 120 volumes in the 20th century. Yale University Press continues to publish an overall Historical Publications series (which in the past included both Miscellany and other subseries), though we have not seen recent volumes published with a "Miscellany" name or series volume number. Volumes were not always numbered in the order they were published. The first copyright-renewed issue is 1930 (no. 20). We know of no actively copyright-renewed contributions. (More details)

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1914: We list volume 1, "The Colonising Activities of the English Puritans" by Arthur Percival Newton.
• 1916: We list volume 2, "A List of Newspapers in the Yale University Library".
• 1916-1926: HathiTrust has volumes 3-7, 9-12, and 15-17 freely readable online, some in reprint editions. Access to some volumes may be restricted outside the United States. Some later volumes may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1920: We list volume 8, "Jared Ingersoll" by Lawrence Henry Gipson.
• 1924: We list volume 13, "The English Conquest of Normandy, 1416-1424" by Richard Ager Newhall.
• 1925: We list volume 14, "The Lords Commissioners of Trade and Plantations, Commonly Known as the Board of Trade, 1748-1782", by Arthur Herbert Basye.
• 1927: We list volume 18, "Tsêng Kuo-fan and the Taiping Rebellion" by William James Hail.
• 1926: We list volume 19, "The Organization of the British Army in the American Revolution" by Edward E. Curtis.
