Publication History

The Youth's Companion began in 1827. Some issues have "The Companion for All the Family" as their running head title. Issue numbering and publication appear to have been confused or interrupted during the civil war of the 1860s. All content of this serial is in the public domain in the US. (More details) In 1929, The Youth's Companion was acquired and merged with The American Boy, which for some time afterward published as American Boy - Youth's Companion.
