Zion's Herald

Zion's Herald was a long-running American Methodist periodical. The title has varied somewhat over time.

Publication History

Zion's Herald began in 1823. In 1828 it merged with the Christian Advocate and Journal to become Christian Advocate and Journal and Zion's Herald, but in 1833 the publications appear to have separated. In 1835 the volume numbering of Zion's Herald was 6. It was known as Zion's Herald and Wesleyan Journal from 1841 to 1867. For much of the late 20th century it was a supplemental insert to other publications. It changed its name to The Progressive Christian in 2006. That magazine ceased publication in 2012.
