Onto the 5th Driller Killer album, which was released in 2000, remember that year? the world was supposed to collapse, but it didn't, but even if it would have, Driller Killer would have raised their middle finger and kept going, as they did for 7 albums straight, same attitude, slightly better production maybe, and great track titles! "No Rules" is my fav here, but "Legalize Murder Now" is something I scream often to this day :))
Favorite track: No Rules.

Driller Killer was a Swedish extreme metal band. They were formed in 1993 in Malmö (Sweden). They got signed to Osmose Productions and have released seven full-length albums, and a variety of split releases to date. Their style has been described as heavy punk, hardcore punk, crust, or D-beat. They are also strongly influenced by the sound of Discharge.
Driller Killer was one of the first bands to implement death metal sound into a crust punk formula. The popularity of the crust punk and death metal fusion cemented when Osmose Productions created the Kron-H imprint for the main purpose of signing Driller Killer, Disfear, Loud Pipes and Dellamorte.
In this year of 2021, Osmose Productions is proud to propose the complete band's catalog re-issue under CD edition.

What a find...What can I say...it's just FUN. This album is completely unpretentious fun. Fantastic. Reminds me of the one man band from Malta "Apotheosis". Hearkens back to the late 90's without being stale or derivative. My ONLY criticism of this album is that I think the guitars are a tad too low/quiet in the mix. Some of the tremolo picking/riffs/leads sound a little too buried under the drums and keyboard...Phenomenal debut, otherwise.

For those of you saying it's muddy or has poor mixing in some way, you're wrong! This album is perfectly balanced and sounds great, on both vinyl and digital. I'll be honest, at first, I also thought there was a mixing issue, but after several spins, it clicked. I think you guys just simply haven't given it enough playthrough sessions or are simply not yet ready for this level of madness. The question is, do you have the stomach for this level of brutality? Very thankful listener!

The Enduring Spirit

Derrick manages to bring a bit of his Dream Unending urges into Tomb Mold, and with great effect. Every track on this is a winner, but "Will of Whispers" feels the most forward-thinking, mixing melody with heaviness and a near-fusion level of musicianship. My favourite modern death metal album.
