This latest release is especially fierce, a ferocious blend of black metal and industrial that has only grown on me. It may even surpass Melinoë, no easy feat. 'The Mask of Night-Speaking' builds to a cataclysmic crescendo, erupting into a fury of the blackest kind at 6:00, as if the entire track was meant for that one moment — a true Akhlys signature. 'Eye of the Daemon' is equally powerful, steeped in nightmare-inspired soundscapes, with 1:54 also showcasing the raw force of this dark art. Obsidian One

Feels like being a courier delivering the most important, life-altering message. Soaring passages and beautiful atmospheres. A sound track for triumph in the darkness. Always love the drumming so much. A breath of fresh air. This record is a strong component of Aara’s discography with very promising composition. I usually don’t love stuff with post-black elements, mostly because that true kvlt vibe lacks presence but with Aara, it is still quite alive, and thus I welcome it all. Cordial Despair

On Frostbitten, Grima continue their atmospheric and melodic, snow seared, blistering style of black metal that they have worked not only to achieve but also maintain with excellent consistency. The keyboard elements add a wonderful depth that brings the whole performance together. These guys should be considered one of the best modern black metal acts around right now. 8/10 RJ
