Linksys Max-Stream AC1750 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router
Gigabit Ethernet switch based device, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi-5 support. This router has four antennas, 3 external with 1 internal. The three external antennas are fixed and cannot be removed. Dual-firmware support allows you to easily switch back to the stock firmware.

OEM easy installation
Flash ...factory.bin image through GUI.
This might fail due to the A/B nature of this device. When flashing, OEM firmware writes over the non-booted partition. If booted from 'A',
flashing over 'B' won't work. To get around this, you should flash the OEM image over itself. This will then boot the router from 'B' and
allow you to flash OpenWrt without problems.
There are more detailed instructions for the v2 version of this device that also seem to work with the v1 version, :toh:linksys:ea7300_v2#installation.
OEM firmware can be found here: https://downloads.linksys.com/support/assets/firmware/FW_EA7300_1.0.11.200282_prod.img
/*
OEM installation using the TFTP method
-> docs:guide-user:installation:generic.flashing.tftp
Specific values needed for tftp
FIXME Enter values for "FILL-IN" below
^ Bootloader tftp server IPv4 address | FILL-IN |
^ Bootloader MAC address (special) | FILL-IN |
^ Firmware tftp image | Latest OpenWrt release (**NOTE:** Name must contain //"tftp"//) |
^ TFTP transfer window | FILL-IN seconds |
^ TFTP window start | approximately FILL-IN seconds after power on |
^ TFTP client required IP address | FILL-IN |
*/
Upgrading OpenWrt
-> docs:guide-user:installation:generic.sysupgrade
FIXME These are generic instructions. Update with your router's specifics.
LuCI Web Upgrade Process
* Browse to http://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/luci/mini/system/upgrade/ LuCI Upgrade URL
* Upload image file for sysupgrade to LuCI
* Wait for reboot
Terminal Upgrade Process
If you don't have a GUI (LuCI) available, you can alternatively upgrade via the command line.
There are two command line methods for upgrading:
* sysupgrade
* mtd
Note: It is important that you put the firmware image into the ramdisk (/tmp) before you start flashing.
sysupgrade
* Login as root via SSH on 192.168.1.1, then enter the following commands:
cd /tmp
wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc
sysupgrade /tmp/xxx.abc
mtd
If sysupgrade does not support this router, use mtd.
* Login as root via SSH on 192.168.1.1, then enter the following commands:
cd /tmp
wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc
mtd write /tmp/xxx.abc linux && reboot
Back to OEM/stock firmware
Hard-reset the router three times to force it to boot from 'B.' This is where the stock firmware resides. To remove any traces of OpenWrt from
your router simply flash the OEM image at this point.
You can also try to remove the DC power connector. Plug it back and the Linksys logo turns on. Then it turns off. Count 4 times "Logo turns on" and disconect the DC power connector.
Repeat for about 3 times, and the bootloader switches the boot partition.
Debricking
-> docs:guide-user:troubleshooting:generic.debrick
Failsafe mode
-> docs:guide-user:troubleshooting:failsafe_and_factory_reset
Basic configuration
-> Basic configuration After flashing, proceed with this.\\
Set up your Internet connection, configure wireless, configure USB port, etc.
Specific Configuration
FIXME Please fill in real values for this device, then remove the EXAMPLEs
Network interfaces
The default network configuration is:
^ Interface Name ^ Description ^ Default configuration ^
| br-lan | EXAMPLE LAN & WiFi | EXAMPLE 192.168.1.1/24 |
| vlan0 (eth0.0) | EXAMPLE LAN ports (1 to 4) | EXAMPLE None |

| wl0 | EXAMPLE WiFi | EXAMPLE Disabled |
Switch Ports (for VLANs)
FIXME Please fill in real values for this device, then remove the EXAMPLEs
Numbers 0-3 are Ports 1-4 as labeled on the unit, number 4 is the Internet (WAN) on the unit, 5 is the internal connection to the router itself. Don't be fooled: Port 1 on the unit is number 3 when configuring VLANs. vlan0 = eth0.0, vlan1 = eth0.1 and so on.

Buttons
-> docs:guide-user:hardware:hardware.button on howto use and configure the hardware button(s).
Here, we merely name the buttons, so we can use them in the above Howto.
FIXME Please fill in real values for this device, then remove the EXAMPLEs
The Linksys EA7300 has the following buttons:

Opening the case
-> Warranty
Caution should be taken when opening in the case. The case is held together by four screws, hidden underneath the four rubber feet on the bottom of the unit. The rubber feet have an adhesive on them and peel off to reveal the screws. Once the four rubber feet and four screws have been removed, there are a number of small, plastic clips inside the case which break easily. Use plastic prying tools to detach the cover.
