Festive Fashions & Country Living
Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I am showing you touches of Festive Fashions & Country Living!
I have festive fashions collected over the years, and I love to wear them often during this short period of time.
The country living happened last weekend, and it was so much fun.
Believe it or not, I returned to Fredericksburg, TX, even after losing my keys there that did involve some locals…and local authorities! Click “losing my keys” for that story.
But, when our youngest son and his family said…”We have a country VRBO house rented in Fredericksburg for the weekend…come join in the fun!” We just had to say YES!
Today, I will share with you my Saturday outfit, and a little about country living in a country house.
FESTIVE FASHIONS & COUNTRY LIVING – THE OUTFIT
We knew we would spend the entire day shopping, eating out, and watching the tree lighting in the town square.
The weather was actually perfect…not too hot…not too cold…but just right. I never once all day into the evening wish I had worn something else.
I have good news and bad news about what I am wearing today for my festive fashions. Be patient…and let me explain.
This is a FOXCROFT TUNIC I have owned since 2021. You can see that it still looks brand new, and has laundered well…as most Foxcroft tops do.
And this is one of the most flattering designed tunics I own.
The bad news is that this plaid is not offered and not in their HOLIDAY FESTIVE FASHIONS.
This is the exact tunic as the plaid one I am wearing and the good news is that it is available in many colors.
It is the CICI NO IRON PINPOINT LONG SLEEVE TUNIC. The flattering seams with two pockets are what you see in my plaid one.
These fit and look so good. I am considering ordering the French Rose color for spring.
More good news is that we would get more wear out of these colors than the festive fashion plaid.
Foxcroft is a great brand and found in many boutiques and fine department stores. I have always been impressed with them…but confess, this tunic is a favorite.
I looked everywhere for one of the plaid ones…even PoshMark…but could not find one to link to for you.
Perhaps all owners are hanging on to theirs like I am because it is such a great tunic.
So sorry that this outfit is older, but I do feel great wearing it. The pants are older black pants from Soft Surroundings and have a snake print on them. I like the fit!
Finally, I knew this day would be much, much walking so I am glad I took my HOKA SNEAKERS...they kept me going and got me through.
Maybe not the most fashion forward…but I needed to have them on…and they worked!
This sparkly plaid is in Foxcroft’s festive fashions.
it is the CAROLINA SEQUINED LONG SLEEVE SHIRT JACKET...and is also available in plus sizes.
FESTIVE FASHIONS & COUNTRY LIVING – THE PLACE FOR ME
I do love country living and the house we stayed in for the weekend was perfect.
Fredericksburg is a German settlement, and the influence is everywhere. I think it has the most Historical Markers as any other Texas town.
You will find one to read on almost every building…residential and commercial.
Our VRBO rental easily slept six adults, one baby, and one dog (our little Tux).
The rock walls, shiplap ceilings, antique furniture, and lovely backyard made it a perfect selection for our family.
The only sad part was that it was perfect weather for a fire inside, but it is not allowed…though, of course, I understand the reasons why.
The best part was location…only a couple of blocks off Maine Street so it was easy to walk everywhere.
We did use our car once during the visit…though after shopping all day, I did accept a ride to do some antiquing later in the afternoon.
Country living…rustic decor… family time and Christmastime all combined to make me smile throughout our stay.
And I was with one of the cutest babies on this planet…my grandson.
It seems that every time I go, I have one store that stands out to me and it is always different.
So, later this week I will take you shopping with me. I hope to get a picture wearing what I purchased that day.
Also, my son’s father-in-law is one of the kings of antique shopping. He showed me some new places I will share with you as well.
But, today was about Festive Fashions & Country Living…and I hope you enjoyed it.
Let me know if you have any questions…hopefully some of you gain styling inspiration even when I am styling pieces already in my wardrobe.
I hope to see you tomorrow…until then…

For all your shopping, please use the links on my SHOPPING PAGE…thank you, thank you to all who shop this way and show support for this blog. It means the world.
Oh, my goodness, what a delightful post! I’m so happy for you to have a festive special weekend. You look fantastic in your plaid.
Thank you, Marcia! It was a fun time.
I’ve always loved Foxcroft and their shirts never wear out! Your plaid one is great! Isn’t the sequin one a great one for Christmas parties!
That sequined one would be perfect for Christmas parties. Foxcroft always impresses me. This tunic was in their collection in 2021 and I have laundered it several times…it still looks new! Thanks for being here, Jen.
Such a lovely gesture, to invite you along! When I lost so much weight, I had to get rid of my Foxcroft blouses, which were a work staple. I was always impressed with the materials and especially the finishing … button holes sewn perfectly, folded down seams, and shaped a little at the waist. Their sizing I found to be all over the place, though. It made it hard to shop on line and take advantage of their terrific sales. Now my wardrobe is mostly knits, and a few of the Chicos no iron blouses. But I do miss those quality Foxcroft pieces, and join you in recommending them to others.
I love these tunics and they are perfect for my more casual life. The sizing on this tunic is a perfect fit for me. I am glad I pulled it out of the closet for my festive fashion and was reminded that the tunic in a different color might be good for spring. Thanks Linda.

Pamela,
I found several tunics similar to your festive tunic by Foxcroft on EBay, in case any lovely women are interested. Have a wonderful day.
That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the weekend! I have loved each and every VRBO we have ever rented. It allows you to feel so at home while away, and connecting with loved ones in that setting is easier than with multiple hotel rooms. Your littlest grandson must have been a delight!
Love your tunic….wore Foxcroft when I worked and they were perfectly, perfect. I’ve been wearing Chico’s white blouse, no-iron, tunics and like those also. They wash well also.
Thanks Linda…I removed the link, because I do not share links for security reasons. This is so kind of you…I will remind everyone that what I am wearing is a tunic and not a shirt. Thanks for going out to look for it.
Thanks Margie…I have several of the Chico’s no-iron tops and tunics and they do wash well. My Chico’s link is on my Shopping Links Page at the top of the blog. The Foxcroft tunic is the most flattering tunic I have ever owned or worn. That is one of my favorite points about it.
Happy Tuesday!
He is a delight and he loved the cowhide rug on the living area floor! This was my first experience with VRBO and it was a good one. Thanks Connie.
Can you please tell us the name of the VRBO? We stay at a wonderful place on Schooley Road called Wild Wing but it is not close to town. We love going to Fred! Good food, wonderful shops and always Varney’s Herb Farm and Johnny Wildseed. Bluebonnet time is awesome! Fred is a Texas treasure and it is so near so many other treasures.
Melinda…My son booked it. The address is 211 South Crockett Street. 78624. The house is for sale for 2.3 million…sadly, not in my budget…but it may sell at some point. The location is awesome. BTW…I love Johnny Wildseed…one of my favorites too.
What a lovely way to spend the weekend with family. The rental house was so interesting and I know how much you were looking forward to returning to Fredericksburg. Aren’t you glad you hung onto that tunic. Its so cute on you. The store I worked in back in Michigan carried Foxcroft. The quality is exceptional and I’ve hung onto an off white shirt for years. Its a little too close to whit but still works OK under a blazer. I’m eyeing the pistachio color which is on sale right now.
