Project Brief:
The project focuses on creating a cohesive design for a food truck, menu, and to-go containers for a local restaurant called Don Pedro Carnitas y Carniceria, located in Pilsen, Chicago. Updating and redesigning the older design to a more eye-catching style that also communicates the restaurant’s essence.
The Process:
Rebranding and illustrating elements to enhance the restaurant’s identity was a major part of the process. This includes creating a sense of family tradition and culture between the name of the company and its design. I also wanted to incorporate a sense of familiarity when it comes to the banner design you would see at festivals in Mexico or the common typeface someone would come across at a Mexican market. These details played a part in all the designs for the truck, menu, and to-go containers to be cohesive.
