I have been sewing....

....just not quilts!

I made a couple of placemats,

that matched our new lamp!

This one will stay clean here, at least!

A dress that I have had cut out since last year!

And, for a friend, a wedding dress!

 😖

Have you ever offered to make something for 

someone and then regretted it?

Had I seen the stretch, hand beaded, expensive tulle lace before I offered, I would never have offered in the first place!

I got the dress to this stage and had to give up.

There was no way I had the skills to put a zipper in this!

Thankfully the bride-to-be totally understood and took it to a professional to finish it off.

Finally a T-shirt!

Hey, if I can sew stretchy, beaded tulle, I can sew a 

t-shirt!

Next time, I will have a quilt to show,

I promise!

A finish...

Motivation....

To Finish-A-Long!

Given my new mantra of 'slow sewing'....

there can only be one goal for the next few weeks....

to have this hand quilted and bound....

I might even have it finished for this...

Wish me luck....

I'd also like to finish these placemats,

as part of the Finish-A-Long!

Which, in fact, gives me TWO goals....

Two, pffff!

WIPS Wednesday...

Just one project to share today.....

(because there hasn't been much progress on anything 

else!)

I decided it was time to make use of this pretty, little 

stack of fabric!

Add some linen and green stripes for binding,

I'm making some placemats.....

inspired by a tutorial here.

I'm off to find some backing in my stash!

Sea Glass....

While I was making this wall quilt for my sister 

Helen.....

I thought how the little pieces of fabric reminded me 

of sea glass......

Zakka inspired....

against the background of sandy coloured fabric......

and its wavy quilting.....

I left my Hera marker at home.....a long fingernail did the trick!

And as it was made down by the beach the name 


seems perfect!

It's now living happily on Helen's wall....

Final dimensions- approx. 20 inches by 60 inches

A second little project was also completed....

a couple of pretty placemats...

complete with red ric rac and binding...

Overall a successful weekend of sewing....

Place Mat Swap

Isn't this great!

It's one of my new place mats, received from Tanya as part of a Flick'r swap!

I think it's based on one of Oh Fransson's Mod Mosaic!

Great fabrics too!

And the second one has a cross design with the cutest bird in the centre!
