Juri Heidemann opens his first EP on his own label, Pengan, with a seven-minute Techno jam. A long, texture-rich intro with FM-like percussions leads the listener to the first boomy kick. Travel through his mesmerizing sound design and enjoy a well mixed installment perfect for a sweaty, dark dancefloor.
Muellair rolls right in. A hefty kick combined with groove-oriented percussions and a detuned synthline that stretches over the entire track but never gets boring due to subtle changes and nuances in the sound. This track is heavily inspired by early 2000s techno with a touch of tribal and hardgroove.
The B-side starts with a deep, minimalistic Techno stomper. With subtle and rounded synths, smooth pads on top, and excellent drum work, Juri Heidemann creates an atmospheric yet floating masterpiece. This tune works perfectly for the early morning closing hours and keeps already tired hips swing some more.
The well-thought-out composition "Snuss" surprises with an extraordinary groove and rounds up the whole EP perfectly. The restrained tempo and washed-out, simple melodies take the listener through a well-balanced arrangement with ease. The finely
incorporated strings add a melodramatic vibe to the overall track.
