It starts out a bit muddy looking but somehow that blue just ties everything together. I was fascinated with this color combo. #copper #marineblue #fmddesigns #gelplateprinting #gelplate #patterns #stencils #mod #modernart #monoprinting #monoprint".

Gel Printing With Die-Cut Letters (ABC Printing Challenge Idea #20)
T is for TYPOGRAPHY! Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen loves using letters and numbers in monoprints. For this print, she uses the negative pieces of die-cut letters. The alphabet die used is the discontinued 658563 Alterations from Sizzix. You can use the paper die cuts often; as paint builds up, they only get stronger. #gelliarts #gelprinting #printmaking #monoprinting #arteducation #gelplate #printingplate #abcprintingchallenge

With our Gelli Arts® New Perfect Borders set of a 4"x6" gel plate and 0.5" acrylic Mini Placement Tool tool, Gelli® artist Michelle Mixed Media flawlessly aligns her print on 5”x7” paper! She uses torn papers, a paper die-cut of a winter tree and a cotton bud to remove some of the paint on the gel plate. Did you know you can use a gel plate WHILE you are creating the collage? A few tips… 1) Gather your collage paper. 2) Trim your collage paper to smaller sizes and glue on to your paper. Use heavier paper, like card or watercolor paper. 3) Use your favorite gel printing techniques to print over top. 4) Once you are finished, trim the papers down to quarters by cutting down the middle of the paper, then cutting each piece in half. Have fun!💥🎉🎨

Sometimes, the ink gracefully seeps underneath the mask or stencil, resulting in a distressed, uneven appearance. Other times, it yields sharp, crisp outlines. Birgit finds it particularly thrilling when both effects come together in a single print, as seen here. She emphasizes the importance of allowing the inks to dry completely before removing any masks or stencils. If they’re still wet, they’ll continue to flow, potentially compromising the desired shapes. While alcohol inks pull from the plate very easily, some colors may leave stains, as evidenced by th
