Made | Sarah Black on Instagram: "Part 2 🤐 Sewing fabric to 1 zipper end. I'm using a leather bag that I make often in my shop for this example. This method is very common for fabric bags with separate outside and lining pieces. What makes this different than the sewing in Part 1 is that the fabric/leather hugs around the end of the zipper and leaves a small gap when you finish sewing the bag. I hope this one made sense 🤞🏽🤞🏽 And I hope it's a helpful method for both leather and fabric makers 🙏🏽 Lmk what you think!"

I’ve been thinking for awhile how I might make it easier with a quilt as you go method. This technique worked great I’m so happy to say! - grab yourself a small clear ruler and a Frixion heat erase pen and some sharp scissors. - I used a base of warm and bright quilt batting (but insulbright would also be amazing) cut to about 13” x 13”. - I used a 3” hexagon template (It’s in my Amazon storefront in my linktree) - go as scrappy as you want. I love to fussy cut so I used a bee for my center and then cut 2” strips of fabric that coordinated. See below for fabrics I used. - mark 1/4” from each end as you sew on the strips, with the frixio
