Cecily of York was the third child of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville, a niece of Richard III and an aunt of Henry VIII. She was born at Westminster Palace in 1469 and married three times, but all her known issue died young and unmarried. As the sister of Elizabeth of York, she played a big role at court, carrying Arthur Tudor at his christening and later carrying Catherine of Aragon's train during her wedding to him. She also attended her sister at her coronation. She died aged 38 in 1507...

She was the mother of King Henry VIII of England and grandmother of Elizabeth I. She was a daughter, sister, niece, mother and grandmother of English monarchs as well as mother of Queens of Scotland and France.
