Asur Vazo
M.Ö. 2500 yıllarından itibaren Mezopotamya’nın kuzeyinde yaşamış olan Asurlular, oldukça savaşçı bir halk olmuştur. Asurlular, yaşadıkları iklimin soğuk ve dağlık bölgeler olmasından dolayı dayanıklılık kazanmış, korunmak zorunda kaldıkları yaban hayvanları sayesinde savaşçı olarak gelişmişlerdir. Böylece, savaş araçlarını da iyi kullandıklarından, şehirleri kolaylıkla kuşatmışlardır. Sümerlerden öğrendikleri çivi yazısını kullanmışlar ve çeşitli anıtsal yapılar bırakmışlardır.Asur Vazo, M.Ö. 716 – 713 yıllarına ait, Asur başkenti Dur Sharrukin’e götürülen Lübnan sedirinin nakliyesini gösteren bir rölyeften esinlenilmiştir.
