Adaptation and Change: Within the movie Stepmom, a little boy's mother is dying and they have a conversation about her preparation of her death as well as telling her son that even though her body will not be there, she will be flying around looking over him. By having this talk, the mom tells her son that he will adapt to her not being around and how the little things will change. For example, not being able to have talks with her face to face.
