Words from the designer: Dråpe (Norwegian for drop) is based on the shape of a water drop. The open end means the design completely changes when viewed from different angles. I just love the organic look. Also, the brass top (which I had some great input from the Wooda team on) really makes it stand out. I feel lucky to get to work with the fine people at Wooda. We share the same passion for making products with exclusive materials, fine finishing and superb quality. At first, I was worried that this design would be too complicated to fabricate – but when I saw the result, it was so much better than I had even hoped. I hope you like this lamp as much as I do, because it really shows what can be achieved when a designer, company and craftsmen work together in the best way possible. About the designer: Ronny Buarøy's professional background started in the automotive industry doing technical drawings. After that he joined a company developing sonar technology, doing mechanical design. Since then he has worked in several subsea technology companies. This background – working with extremely fine tolerances with no room for errors – shaped him to be extremely careful with details and leave nothing to coincidence. His mechanical design work is mostly functional, so he felt a need to explore more creative design without so many "borders.” Founding Buaroy Design let him bring his ideas to life.
