I just had a look across a handful of big wikis and it turns out, if Google Translate is to be believed, that most wikis localised Nuke to be called something like 'Mass delete' anyway:

No, @Dringsim is right, and MediaWiki.org also has an override :/ The base message in MediaWiki for 'userlogin-remembermypassword' is just "Keep me logged in": https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/g/mediawiki/core/+/REL1_43/languages/i18n/en.json#379 (but it takes an unused parameter $1 that allows displaying the customized time).

No, it's not enwp's custom message: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:UserLogin also shows it. Enwp overrode 365 days -> 1 year which is just a minor wording change .

Note since we have the Nuke extension the term "nuke" got a specific meaning: to delete all pages created by a specific user, which is distinct from another extension named DeleteBatch and a maintenance script DeleteBatch.php, both asks user a specific list of pages to delete.

In many countries, the word "nuke" is taken lightly, but that's not true everywhere in the world. [citation needed] Also, with current geopolitics I feel it's a bit in poor taste to use the name of a devastating weapon in an extension for cleaning up wikis.

To be clear: I think the sensitivity around the word ‘nuke’ needs a citation before taking an action on this (especially as drastic action as forking and re-creating the extension under a new name). Without such a demonstration this is just, for the lack of better term, virtue signalling: an attempt to do something socially progressive that wasn’t an actual issue with anyone and would change nothing.
