Grunge Up Your Poppies
Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well out there. I know some of you have had poorly animals to cope with so my best wishes go to you all and the lovely animals too of course!
I have done a painting on my beloved wood inspired by this very beautiful post here.
The only trouble is I have no poppy stamps! That doesn't usually deter me so out came the Speedycarve and I made a little poppy stamp (which you can see later) but although I was pleased with it, it wasn't quite big enough. So I thought, just draw the poppies and then paint them......simples!
Grab your piece of wood, sand it down, Decoart Gesso it, brayer on your paint ( I used the cheaper Decoart Acrylic Crafters paints) add a little stamping for texture and interest, draw your flowers, paint them using Decoart Media Fluid paints, then use a posca pen and Stabilo all pencil to highlight the flowers....all done.....oh and add aTim Holtz Small Talk sentiment and you're all finished.
I cannot recommend the Decoart Media Fluid paints enough. They really have the most wonderful, statin sheen to them and the colours are so vibrant, makes painting a real joy.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
The Mixed Media Monthly, May Flowers
Anything but Cute, Vintage Garden
Stamping Sensations, Flower Power ( I've used a Dina Wakley stamp for the background)
That Craft Place, Shabby Chic
Inspiration Destination, Anything Goes
Hope you like it

Show your Face
Hello everyone,
Today I'd like to highlight the absolute brilliant idea going on over at Kim Dellow's Art it Friday - Show your Face blog as for a few weeks now, she's been encouraging people to create their own artwork of faces. No stamps, digs or stencils just purely hand drawn faces.
Now, I'm passionate about drawing and I really believe EVERYONE can do it, there is no right or wrong,if you are happy with it that's all that matters. Don't get me wrong, I love my stamps too but sometimes we don't always have the right stamp to fit what we want to create do we?
Here's my drawing that I am linking up today, all hand drawn and coloured using Faber Castell Polychromos and then gone over with a black 01 Micron pen. There is one stamp in there, buried in her hair as I just love Dina Wakley's scribbly writing stamp :)
So grab a pencil and paper and get drawing, it doesn't take long but the satisfaction is wonderful :)
Hope you like it

Stand Out
Hello everyone,
I know it's a very British thing to drone on about the weather but I must say it is truly rotten today........no gardening equals more craft time though so I suppose it has advantages then :)
A card for you all today, I don't often use my patterned paper stash but in this case I quite liked the idea of making Dina's girl blend in with the background but still stand out.....if that makes sense? I love this stamp, I think she has a certain melancholy about her that's endearing.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
The Mixed Media Monthly, May Flowers
Stamping Sensations, Flower Power
City Crafter, Focus on Flower(s)
Take It,Make It, Take A Stamp (Anything Goes)
Inspiration Destination, Anything Goes
Decoart paints (the flowers are stamped on and cut from a Gelli print), Copics, Distress Inks, Stickles. The stamps are: Dina Wakley, Tim Holtz, Dylusions and Carabelle.
Hope you like it

Hello everyone,
Wow, here comes the May challenge already....where did April go?!
As alway the theme over at Altered Eclectics is Anything Goes but no cards, ATCs' or Layouts. Please pop along and see what my lovely teamies have created for this month.
I grabbed a lump of wood out of my stash and did a cartoony type version of my beloved cat...well she behaves like a cartoon cat so why not create her as one!
Unfortunately, when the 'model' was introduced to the finished creation she was less then impressed.......never work with a Diva!!!
Decoart and Fresco paints, Juddikins stencil.
Hope you like....if you don't....complain to the cat :)
