I can do 7zip, tar, and zip...how do I get rar ?
When I run 7-Zip Portable, I get the following warning from ZoneAlarm:
7-Zip Portable is trying to launch [user]\Local Settings\Temp\nsg50.tmp\ns51.tmp, or use another program to gain access to privileged resources
I still run the program, but I'd like to have an idea of just what I'm saying "yes" to, please.
Weird thing. For another program that was 7ziped, it didn't download properly, so I thought I needed to unzip it. Just went to the download page and downloaded the program about 2 hours ago.
I just now had the time to run the paf, I double clicked on the paf and the eraserdroptarget program started to install. It had the 7zip icon and all. I went back to the download page and downloaded the paf, and installed it fine.
Don't know what happened in those 2 hours. I hadn't downloads the droptarget since it came out a few weeks ago, so I was confused.
Hi All
I have a nice glossy icon Id like to use in place of the current 7-zip program icon and I am wondering how best to go about changing them?
thanks for any help
Hi, is there any way to get .ace support for this app?
I've used PortableFileAssociator to associate 7-Zip as the default application for opening .zip files. I know this probably isn't supported, but it makes my life easier. Everytime I extract a zip file and exit the program, entries are left at HKCU\Software\7-zip. Again I know this was probably never intended, but does anybody know why this is happening?
Now, I understand that this is a touchy topic, and is considered "unsafe", but in this particular case I think it is warranted. Currently, whenever you change options in 7-zip portable (enabling context menu, file associations, etc) it treats it as though it was a desktop installation and so, if you HAVE a desktop installation already, it overwrites your local settings. Is there any way to add this into the launcher to backup the file associations and other options, then create file associations to the portable version?
can someone verify the link to sourceforge for me, please?
not sure if theres a propper filename in it?
i tried different mirrors but it gets stuck for some odd reason /;

to make sure i tried downloading the portable vlc from here and that worked fine
I have tried several times to download and install 7-Zip. Each time I receive a "file corrupt" error. Any ideas? Thanks.
I use 7-Zip, when I noticed that for Mac-On-A-Stick, I needed to extract a file for it to work. Unfortuanatly, it was in a bin file, which 7-Zip does not support. There are other programs that will do the job, but I am suggesting for the next release that .bin files are supported.
