KAMIKOUCHI - Kappa bridge

The Kappa Bridge is a symbol of Kamikochi. Although it is a man-made object, its appearance blends with nature and has become an indispensable presence in Kamikochi. From the top of the bridge, you can see the majestic Hotaka and Dakezawa mountain range, the cool and clear flow of the Azusa River, the poppy willows and larch trees swaying in the sunlight, and if you look back, you can see Mt. .

IWAKUNI - Kintaikyo Bridge

The Kintai Bridge is one of the most representative wooden bridges in Japan. It is located in Iwakuni (Yamaguchi Prefecture), a city near the neighboring Hiroshima Prefecture. Built in 1673, its five-arched structure runs from bank to bank of the Nishiki River, allowing access to Mount Yokoyama, on top of which is Iwakuni Castle. It was declared a National Treasure of Japan in 1922, along with the castle, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. The Kintai bridge is also the scene of the "Kintaikyo Festival", celebrated every April 29 and in which the return to the castle of the Iwakuni daimyo and his entourage of vassals and servants is recreated.
