Easy Apple Galette Recipe For the Galette 1 single pie dough, homemade or store bought 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (about one pound) 1 teaspoon lemon zest, optional 2 tablespoons lemon juice, optional 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, see note 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour Optional, for the crust 1 large egg, whisked sugar For the Crumb Topping ¼ cup all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons butter, melted For Serving ice cream caramel sauce Instructions Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare the crust: Roll out pie dough on a lightly floured counter into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Make the filling: Stir together apples, lemon zest, lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Add flour. Stir to combine. Set aside. Place the apples onto the pie dough, leaving about a one-inch border around the edge. Fold edge of dough over the apples, pleating as needed. If the dough tears, pinch it back together. If desired, brush the crust with the whisked egg and sprinkle the sugar over the dough. Make the Topping (optional): Stir together flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add the melted butter. Stir until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the apple filling. Bake Galette. Bake until the crust is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
