Cherokee outlaw Ezekiel “Zeke” Proctor lived a traditional Cherokee life, which put him in direct opposition with his tribal kinsmen, the Becks. “Zeke” had walked the Trail of Tears from Georgia to the Indian Territory when he was a seven-year-old boy in 1838.
