Becky Clarke on Instagram: "3 things I wish I knew before I started…. If I could start this project all over again? What would I do differently? 1: Prime the staircase with dark primer first. Although the paint I used didn’t require this step with two little ones bashing toys around the painted wood work does chip. It’s not had many scuffs over the last 8 months and touch ups are quick to resolve. BUT if I had my time again I would absolutely do this. 2: Dark on the bottom. I would paint the top lighter and the panelling darker. I actually love the look but It really does get grubby. Im forever washing the walls. This would absolutely be less noticeable if I had a darker panelling on the bottom. 2: TOP COAT I highly recommend adding a top coat. Can you believe I still ha
