If you don’t have a massive garden but would like some height and structure, here’s some small tree recommendations. I’ve done A LOT of research into this as I don’t want to plant something that looks good now and in 2 / 5 / 10 years time have a giant tree on my hands.

The only original tree we had in the garden was a lovely old crab apple. So we’ve kept that and it casts a lovely dappled shade over our outdoor cooking area. This is the list of new trees we’ve added in
- Amelanchier Lamarkii Multi-stem
- Heptacodium Miconoides
- Acer Griseum (can get big but is very slow growing and is in a planter, which will restrict it)
- Cornus Kousa Chinensis
- Acer Davidii ‘Viper’

I’ll give you a run down on all the other plants w Amelanchier Lamarckii Small Garden, Crab Apple Tree Landscape, Crab Apple Tree, Multi Stem Amelanchier, Amelanchier Alnifolia, Amelanchier X Grandiflora 'autumn Brilliance', Outdoor Cooking Area, Giant Tree, Cooking Area

Espalier pruning involves training a tree to grow in two dimensions, usually along a wall or fence. It is often used in tight spaces or along the perimeter of a garden. The step-over pruning technique is often used to line paths, and trains trees to grow low to the grow and horizontally along a structure. Lastly, Quenouille pruning involves shaping a tree into a conical shape with main layers of branches that Fruit Tree Fence, Small Flowering Trees, Tree Arborist, Fence Trees, Espalier Fruit Trees, Fruit Tree Garden, Orchard Design, Garden Hacks, Flowers Gardening
