This was a week of old and new. It was my birthday (and that's not the only reason for the old)...ha ha! My sister sent me a beautiful, new, LARGE! harvest basket. I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

At the end of August this last summer I had the opportunity to visit and take classes at a school in Western PA called Touchstone Center for Crafts . The class I took was a week of willow basketry with Jo Campbell-Amsler of Willow Ridge Baskets . Jo is one of my favorite willow basket teachers.

This handmade basket measures approximately 24" long x 12" high x 7" deep. It is made from solid oak and walnut. The handle is a live edge branch. The basket bottom and sides are coated hardware cloth. This basket makes gathering your flowers, vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. a breeze when you are harvesting them from the fields and gardens. These baskets are made to order, our lead time at our shop is 10 to 15 days.
