Emily's Ribbon QuiltFor years, I've had people ask me if I make ribbon quilts. And I've always just said that's not really what I do. But this time, I couldn't say no. This time it was my own family - my cousin Emily in Illinois. And I think maybe I'd gotten tempered to the idea by un-assuming Pinterest posts. At any rate, I'm so glad I agreed to try this, because I ended up really enjoying it! Emily sent me all the ribbons and rosettes that she'd saved up during her career in 4-H and FFA - most were livestock…

Cascading Ribbons QuiltEllen made this fun Cascading Ribbon quilt for her granddaughters graduation gift. She adapted the pattern to make it Queen sized and figured out the math to make the ribbons a smaller scale. Her grand daughter picked the colours and many of the fabrics I recognize as Art Gallery Fabrics. I quilted it with a new pantograph called Windswept. I used black So Fine thread and Ellen brought a 80/20 batting.
Ribbon BorderHello Everyone, Today I'm going to show you how to make this ribbon border which will be framing my Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins. I started by making 32 (HST) half-square triangles. I make my HST eight at a time using an easy method. You can watch this method by clicking HERE and viewing my video on The Quilt Show. There is a lot of information in my Patchwork Math videos. Ribbon Box QuiltPictures - Ribbon Box Quilt - I just completed this quilt yesterday, haven't washed it yet but can't wait to see the crinkliness emerge after doing so, it's the main reason I chose the Hobbs 80/20 batting and white muslin for the backing (with no prewashing of anything). EQ7 Twisted Ribbon Block to BorderThis post is my attempt to answer a question on the EQ7 list. To make this block you start with a 9 Patch block add a couple of lines to make two half square triangles. Color the block in such a way that there looks like there is right side and a wrong side to the ribbon, or a light and dark sides. I tried this with the darker yellow where the light yellow and light yellow where the dark is but I didn’t like it as well. I originally saw this block on Judy Butcher’s Blog. It is in her Series…
