This beautiful incense holder was inspired by an avocado leaf that fell from an avocado sapling I grew from seed. The veins visible on the incense holder are actual impressions of the leaf on clay. After a bisque firing, I painted the leaf with bottle green glaze and fired again in an electric kiln. The glaze settled and highlighted the veins of the leaf while flowing smoothly over its entire form. The incense holder is one of a kind, and in its natural leaf form is sure to bring serenity…
