I had some metal bands left over from the wine barrel tables that I have made in the past, so I recycled the bands into a firewood stand. I had rope that I bought years ago when our local hardware store closed down, so finally found a use for it. I used a clamp to hold the bands together and cut strips of wood that screwed into the bands to support the logs.  I cut two thicker  pieces of wood that fit under the bands to stop it rolling over.
