Moons

I fell in love with the moon several years ago on a long night ride home; driving north as a passenger with mountains on the east and a full moon playing hide and seek with them. A year later I painted a series of the moon called the "Mare" series. 13 paintings 36x36 " each painted with acrylic and oil paint on hand stitched surfaces. Each title is Latin for the13 large dark disks on the surface of the moon that a French scientist thought 270 yrs ago were oceans or mares on the moon.
