I adore painting Agapanthus – such an elegant, architectural flower that blooms only briefly but leaves a lasting impression. • • • • • • • • • • • • #agapanthus #botanicalart #loosewatercolor #watercolorbotanicals #floralillustration #originalartwork #handpainted #botanicalillustration #watercolorartist #gardeninspiredart #flowerpainting #botanicaldecor #fineartforsale #artcollectors #natureinspiredart | Assel Jaffee | Facebook
7.4K views · 2.9K reactions | A simple and older one today about adding a bit of extra detail. Many times, with my wedge brush petals, I leave them alone and let the integrity of the stroke stand by itself, especially if it's a really nice double dipped stroke that turned out great. And, depending on if the flower is in a smaller composition, a bigger one, a focal flower, and/or a filler, etc... All of this plays into if I add details or not. Many times I just can't help it and I need to get in there and jazz it up to give it more interest, more flair, more depth, and even to hide an oops. I still try to keep it simple though and usually focus on the sides and back portion of the petals. ♥️ I'm using a size 8 wedge brush, Alizarin Crimson, Sepia, and a smidge of Quin gold watercolor, on Canson XL watercolor paper. ☀️Hope you enjoy and may your Sunday be abundantly blessed! #watercolorartist #floralwatercolor #watercolorreels #watercolortechniques #watercolorflowers #floralpaintings #paintingvideos | Jen Sweeney | Facebook

I started this with just two drops of water, then let the color flow, guiding it with gentle pulls from my brush. It felt like magic unfolding. 🌿 That’s the wonder of watercolor… you never get the same result twice. The water has a mind of its own—unpredictable, wild, and beautifully alive. Every painting becomes a quiet little surprise. 🖌️ Supplies I used: • 100% cotton watercolor paper by Feitake • Princeton round brush (size 2) • Rockwell 24-color watercolor set (linked in profile) 🌸 “The wind blows wherever it pleases.
