Aletha Finch, widow of late actor Peter Finch, holds the Oscar won by her late husband for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in Network. In winning the award, Finch became the first actor ever to win the award posthumously, although other actors had been nominated. The award was presented to Alteha Finch at the 49th Annual Academy Award presentations.
Christiane Martel, selected as Miss Universe in the Long Beach, Calif., beauty pageant last July, said Nov. 19 that she plans to marry a department store heir of Stockton, Calif. The 18-year-old beauty, currently under film contract, said the man is Ronnie Marengo, 22, and the wedding would be sometime in January. Miss Martel was the French entrant in the Miss Universe contest.
