French transitional (from Art Nouveau to early Art Deco) desk and en suite chair by Leon Jallot in sculpted walnut and walnut burl, circa 1910. This desk features Jallot’s beautiful open raspberry blossom and leaves sculpting. The desk is 37.5” wide x 25” deep overall x 29.5” high to the writing surface. 38” high overall. 25” leg clearance space. Restored and refinished. In 1901 Jallot became one of the founding members of the first Salon of Societe des Artistes Decorateurs in Paris – an organization which produced highly anticipated annual exhibitions through the first half of the 20th Century.
