It is a story of a great love, but also of sin and retribution- one gunshot, a little blood, prayer and purifying sorrow. Daniel is an Israeli arriving in Budapest in search of his lover whom he lost exactly one year ago. He drives limousines for a living, and is now driving Samuel, a black boxer has-been. They are both on their way to the boxing club, Calypso, where Samuel is to fight, and where Daniel finds his long lost love, Noa, in the arms of the owner, Peter, an ex- revolutionary, dubious, but charming. Daniel takes her our of the club, for a long night journey in which they search for their old feeling and their new selves. The prohibitions of Yom Kippur make it all more difficult for him to reach her, while Noa finds it difficult to understand why he left her to begin with. In the background a lost boxing match and a criminal deal behind it cast an oppressive shadow. Written by Omer Ninyo See less
