She is found stabbed to death in her son Klaus's house. When pathologist Dr. Strahl finds a mysterious note in her apron, detectives Finn Kiesewetter and Lars Englen examine the crime scene more closely and make a horrific discovery. In a basement dungeon, they find a distraught young woman. Stella Berthold was reported missing 19 months ago. While in captivity, she gave birth to a daughter, but little Mimi disappeared with her tormentor, Klaus Wenzel. Wenzel apparently killed his mother in a fit of rage when she learned of his dark secret.
