In his prime, he was among the five strongest world chess players. Unrivaled in simultaneous exhibition, he was blindfold specialist, he has held world record for some time in playing blindfold against 30 chess players. Like no other chess player, he was champion of : Yugoslavia, Hungary, USA, Argentina, India and Romania. As a chess player he traveled around the world twice at the time when there were no commercial airplanes, and the railroad were just established.
