Murad's mother always belittles ...See moreMurad (Ed Osmera) is engaged to Ani (Sarimah) and is continuing his education in London. Ani is a typical village girl and is considered by Murad's mother (Ummi Khalsum) as not equal to her family status. Murad's mother always belittles Ani especially when attending a banquet at the house of their acquaintance (S. Roomai Noor) when welcoming the return of their son (Ismail Mahmud) from London. Ani who was also present at the ceremony met Agus (Jins Shamsuddin), a painter. Agus has invited Ani to come to his house to be a model in his painting. Ani's acquaintance with Agus has planted a feeling of love in their hearts. Finally they got married while Murad was still in London. Unfortunately it doesn't smell. On the night Ani and Agus got married, an accident happened to Agus causing Agus to be unable to fulfill his household responsibilities to Ani. This resulted in Ani always brooding over grief and sadness. When Murad returned from London, he was shocked to learn that Ani had married someone else. See less
