John writes to his father for the wherewithal, but his father writes to the effect that when John had settled down and had two kids of his own, the money would be forthcoming. Les Morane, a club friend, calls on John, and finding him in the deep blues, inquires the cause. Shown the letter, his eye catches the phrase "2 kids," and turning to Paton, another friend, he whispers a word, and leaving the mystified John, they hurry away. Later that night the apartment house is disturbed by the return of the boys, accompanied by a small kid goat. John, after his surprise is over, realizes the joke to be played on father, and hastily wires him to the effect that he has one kid and expects another at any moment. The latter part of this is true, as the boys have gone in search of another. Arriving at John's apartment they display their trophy and a second wire readies dad to the effect that the second kid arrived and to send along the money. The fact of the kids eating John's shirt inspires a postscript, "Appetite immense, eating everything in sight." Dad received this wire and sends the check immediately, but he also determines to visit the happy family. After a shower of kisses dad unpacks the toys and demands to see the "kids." Ramona tries to explain the recent wedding, but dad produces the incriminating telegram about the second kid and Ramona bursts into tears, thinking John has been married before. She immediately decides to go home to mother and dad agrees to accompany her. Ramona pens a hurried note to John, telling him she knows all and has returned to mother. John received the note at the club and his two friends decide to help him out. The 2 kids, kept at the club, as mascots, are seized, and John hurries to Ramona's home. Here he is greeted by a storm from the two fathers, Ramona and her mother. Motioning his friends on he shows all of them his two "kids" and Ramona rushes to his arms as the fathers both bless and forgive him. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
