He is soon disturbed by an organ grinder. After the music purveyor has departed. Bingles' nerves are again worked up by the maid ringing a cracked dinner bell. He goes down to dinner, where added torture is inflicted upon him by the diners. Unable to tolerate it any longer, be goes to several restaurants where he hopes to find solitude, but as soon as he has given his order in each cabaret, a dancing girl or something else provokes him and he is compelled to leave.
