He refuses to accompany her shopping one afternoon and leaves, meeting another girl and escorting her to the theater. Mrs. Barr is all broken up. She is visited by a friend who suggests that they go to a matinee. They do so and Mrs. Barr discovers Mr. Barr in a box with the other woman. She leaves very much broken up. She attempts suicide on a railroad track, but is frightened by the rumbling of the train. She next visits a drug store where her nervous manner gives away her intention to the druggist. Instead of giving her cyanide of potassium as she requests he gives her a bottle of plain water, marking it cyanide of potassium. She leaves. Meanwhile Mr. Barr and his companion go to a restaurant, followed there by Mrs. Barr's friend, who takes the telephone number of the restaurant and leaves. She finds that Mrs. Barr has taken the supposed poison and phones the restaurant asking for Barr. He leaves the place in great agitation, and some comedy situations result as he attempts to leave hurriedly. He arrives home after various escapades of a comic nature and is horrified at the sight of his supposed dead wife. He discovers the half-drained bottle of water marked cyanide and after looking over his last will and testament he takes same. Meanwhile, Mrs. Barr awakens and angrily packs her things preparatory to leaving. She discovers Barr taking the poison and, removing his picture from the bedroom wall, slams it over his head, and pins him to a chair. After berating him, Mrs. Barr leaves and we dissolve out on Barr as he struggles to free himself from the picture frame. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
