The adventures of 'Old Sleuth" afford him the greatest entertainment, and he often reads aloud to his sister, Irma. One morning, while Frank, Irma and the dog are enjoying the latest adventures of "Old Sleuth" mother calls and tells Frank and Irma to go to the store. Frank puts down his novel with reluctance. On the way to the store Frank and Irma witness a daring bank robbery. They see the thief, with a mask over his face, backing out of the bank and then the cashier runs out with revolver in hand to notify the police. Frank and Irma hear the cashier tell the policeman the details of the robbery and they thereupon determine to capture the thief by following "Old Sleuth's" methods. Irma cuts some hair from the dog's tail and disguises Frank with a mustache. While they are scouting around back alleys Frank sees the thief and he and Irma trail him into a cellar. Irma runs for a cop while Frank keeps watch. The cop catches the thief, but the latter's wife drives the cop off after she has turned over the money to him. Later the crook sees the cop drinking and bumping into him, manages to snatch back the packet of money. Then follows a merry chase, the crook finally escaping by jumping a fence. Irma and Frank are on the other side and both are much surprised when they see a hand poked under the fence with a roll of money in it. Frank grabs the money and takes it to his mother. Meanwhile the cop sees the thief, and jumping over the fence, subdues him. The crook points to the spot where he hid the money and is astounded when he finds it gone. Frank's mother comes up at this point, however and returns the money to the officer. Next day Frank's mother receives a letter from the City National Bank enclosing $25 as a slight token of their appreciation of the service rendered by her children. Written by
