Angry at his father's refusal, Tom leaves home. After wandering about the country he falls in love with a notorious outlaw, though he does not know who the latter is. and while together the outlaw leaves Tom one night in camp, rides to the home town of Tom's father and robs the post office, then returns to the camp boasting of his crime, etc. When the robbery is discovered, Sheriff Jennings sends young Arizona Dick, a suitor for his daughter Kate, after the robbers and promises his daughter's hand if he catches him. Dick goes, catches up with the outlaw and Tom and captures Tom, the outlaw escaping. Tom protests his innocence, but goes with Dick, not knowing where he is being taken. The sheriff is away, but Kate is home and of course recognizes her brother. Her appeals cause Dick, to let Tom escape and Dick is thrown in jail himself for allowing him to get away. Tom escapes and Dick is released by Kate and follows Tom, and finding him secures a description of his companion of the night before, and also the information that the outlaw had framed up another hold-up that night. Dick goes there with the intention of capturing him, but allows him to go after extracting a written confession that Tom was not with him in the post office robbery. With this vindication of the boy, Dick and Tom go home to the sheriff, who is overjoyed at his son's return, etc. Dick and Kate, of course, marry, as do Cherry and Tom. Written by
