Jack says he will consider it. The widow then calls...See moreJack, president of the local bank, is besieged by his secretary and her sweetheart Jimmie, to let them marry. They want Jack to make it possible by promoting Jimmie to the job of cashier. Jack says he will consider it. The widow then calls on the phone, asking to have Jack attend a deed for her. Jack looks downcast and upon being questioned by Gayle, he says that he has to be nice to the widow, but that he loves her sister, Babe. Gayle says she will help him with his affair if he will give Jimmy his promotion; Jack agrees and they start off for the widow's house. When they arrive they encounter the villain who has just been refused in matrimony. While Gayle engages the widow in conversation, Jack makes love to Babe. The widow finds out and chases Jack and Gayle out of the house. The widow starts to gossip with the maid and tells her that Jack has been carrying on scandalously of late. The maid gossips with other maids and soon the whole town is ready to withdraw its deposits. The following morning Jack arrives at the bank to find it besieged by depositors who are clamoring for their money. They chase Jack all over but finally he is able to phone the neighboring village that he is coming over to get twenty-five thousand dollars. The villain overhears and hires two thugs to waylay Jack. The widow promises to marry the villain if he will see that Jack does not get the money. Jack reaches the neighboring town, gets the money and starts back. but the thugs embroil him in a battle and when the villain arrives Jack gets free while they are fighting among themselves. A wild chase follows and Jack uses all sorts of vehicles to get back to the bank. He does, finally and placates the crowd. The crowd is about to leave when Jack espies the villain talking to the widow. Another fight starts and Jack comes out victorious when Babe swats the tough adversaries with a club.
