The sheriff sends Mum a note to meet him for a date, hoping to capture her and use her as bait to trap the outlaws. However a suspicious Marian goes instead and is promptly caught. The Countess of Luxemburg has arrived to marry Guy so the merry men seize her and replace her with Mum, to gain bargaining power and secure Marian's release.
