With these words, little Dorothy Rich leaves to visit her relatives. Dorothy's father has just died, leaving her his fortune, but before allowing anyone the benefit of her money, she determines to find out which ones are deserving. Shabbily dressed, she calls on one of her aunts with a hard-luck tale of how her father lost all his money in the stock market. They show her little sympathy and finally order her out of the house. Her grandmother who, though very poor, is supporting an adopted son, sees her plight and takes her into her own home, depriving herself that Dorothy has the necessities of life. Dorothy now sees which of her relations really love her, and tells her grandmother that she need no longer want for anything that money can buy. When her loving aunt hears the truth, she becomes very apologetic, but having seen her true character, Dorothy is not deceived by her bright, polished manner. Written by
